Teaching is a career that requires constant learning.

After completing my PGCE in 2017 I took time to complete PD from the Education Bureau of Hong Kong. In 2018 I completed my Masters of International Education while working full time at Sze Yap underr the Principal of the time. We condicted research on the school and implmented action plans co-signed by the school supervisor.

My work at Sze Yap reignited a passion for dealing with child mental health issues. 

My knowledge and understanding while working with our on-the-spectrum learners showed me that there was a lot of work to do in this field. As such, with the full support of my Principal and the school supervisor I began my Masters of Psychological counselling in 2020

I had managed my time in such a way that it has allowed me to complete this Masters in 2021, while still giving my learners my full attention. This course has made it possible to ensure that my SEND learners feel even more taken care of. I am able to manage their needs while putting in place strict boundaries to ensure that they feel accepted and safe.

 

In 2018 I took on the challenge of a Masters of International Education so that I could affect change in my classroom. This was initially a 3 year program. I achieved this in 2 years while working as a full-time teacher. 

The trust my principal-at the time- placed in my abilities allowed me to construct and initiate new management tools and teaching techniques, working within the constraints of the EDB Space Town literacy program. My work resulted in receiving commendations from the University.
